Apex International: A vision fulfilled
For most entrepreneurs of the world, business is a mere means to fetch one’s daily bread and butter. Mr. Lalit Khanna, Chairman, Apex International, however, has a vision for his business and the industry, which is to help establish a world where people have access to the basic necessities of life.
On starting out, growth & expansion (in a globalised market)
His dream to build an impactful business turned real in 2007. “I established the company in the year 2007. Our main product is water hand pump.”
In order to manufacture products suitable for foreign nations, Mr. Khanna designed a variety of water pumps, “To cater to the needs of more than 35 countries, we manufacture mark 2, U2, U3 pumps which suits the need of individual companies. We also manufacture cold-chain equipment, vaccine carriers, cold boxes, which are required for preservation and transportation for city vaccines.”
While crafting the products, Mr. Khanna not only kept their utility in mind, but also planned it well as per international standards. “All these products are approved by WHO and UNICEF worldwide,” he shares. Keeping in mind the shifting demands of the market towards eco-friendly and cost-effective products, he has a full-fledged plan to manufacture solar equipment products in the coming years. “We are going to have solar operated hand-pumps, solar street lights and solar lanterns,” says Mr. Khanna.
Becoming an IndiaMART Achiever
Having a stringent view on the importance of having an internet presence, Mr. Khanna believes that the world is going ‘internet savvy’. “Everyone wants to see the products on the internet,” he shares. Like every company yearns to grow bigger and better with time, the Chairman of Apex International too had these dreams. However, turning these dreams into reality got much easier for him, when compared to rest of the entrepreneurs. “I came in contact with IndiaMART about 10-12 years ago. The credit for the growth of our business goes to IndiaMART who has been helping us out in getting more and more clients from various countries who contact us through IndiaMART,” Mr. Khanna reveals his key to accomplishment. “Our success from a mere Rs. 3 crore in the beginning has reached to Rs 42 crores, the credit for which goes to IndiaMART for expanding our business.”
