Dream Comes True for Globe Enterprises
While success is what every entrepreneur aspires for, the real test is to sustain that success. Someone who passed this test with flying colours is Mr. Ishamuddin, Proprietor, Globe Enterprises.
Fluttering of a Dream
For the past 7 years, Mr. Ishamuddin has been delivering its promise of offering quality products to its customers. The bonus for his commitment has been the success he has maintained over these years. “I started my career in 1983 as a helper in Prolific. Post this, I worked for almost 14 years and whatever I know today is because of the work done in these years,” says Mr. Ishamuddin.
The foundation stone was laid in 2002 by Mr. Ishamuddin. He shares, “I started all alone and worked on my own for many days but today I have a manpower of 25 who are helping me manufacture 300 equipments.”
Shaping the Dream
The company manufactures equipments that majorly finds application in the footwear industry. Testing equipments such as safety shoe, formal shoe. Apart from this, it also offers testing equipments for helmets, impact tester, humidity chamber, oven etc.
“We are about to launch a new full matrix machine that is being made for a firm Sheela who are known with the brand name Sleepwell. Secondly, we supply labs to Wega Auto which is a big helmet manufacturing company” says Mr. Ishamuddin. In total, Globe Enterprises is manufacturing more than 300 testing equipments.
It did not prove to be a bed of roses for Mr. Ishamuddin when he decided to sail towards entrepreneurship. His major challenge came in the form of lack of capital. He shares, “I started with a small amount of Rs. 25000 that too a gratuity amount which posed as a big hurdle in my journey. The next challenge was access to markets.”
Smooth Marketing Drive
A symbiosis of modern and traditional means of marketing exists at Globe Enterprises that has given it an edge over others. “The internet has given us an identity as a major clientele of ours knows us through the internet while our old clients who know us have been our marketing channel because of word of mouth publicity,” says Mr. Ishamuddin.

For Mr. Ishamuddin, Internet has played the role of an equalizer and provided a level playing field. He says, “We have received a lot of enquiries through the Internet. The biggest benefit has been the ripple effect it has had on our company. People started recognising our name which led to enquiries and that too from genuine customers.”
