AVI International Packaging Company Delivers a Hit
‘When the going gets tough, the tough gets going.’ This has been the mainstay of the growth story of AVI International Packaging Company headed by a visionary Mr. Ajay Bansal Proprietor of the company.
“Initially when we started the business, we used to go for cold calling and door to door marketing to various factories. But, we did not get proper response from any of the big companies. We went to Moser Baer, Haldiram, Dabur and we went to many other companies. We were turned back from their gates. They also asked us to share a catalog which they said would be forwarded to the respective person. But, we never got a call from any client. We were not very satisfied with the performance and had a tough journey for six months,” shares Mr. Bansal.
These proved to be a hindrance in making Mr. Bansal’s dreams come true but it did not deter him from his goal of achieving success.
“When we started in 2004, we did not know much about the packaging field. As the previous experience was related to a purely instrumentation line, the packaging field altogether was new for me. It was the post production line where in the end product was being packed.” he says.
Back to the Present
With the support of his team of 9 people, Mr. Bansal has been able to deliver a turnover of more than Rs. 2 crores. He says, “Currently, we are offering packaging machines like shrink tunnels, vacuum packaging machines, strapping machines, continuous band sealers and few other packaging solutions which we offer as a packaging solution. Our key and satisfied customers as of now are Dabur India Ltd., VLCC Ltd., VLCC Personal.”
IndiaMART Achiever – Starting Early
The internet became a part of Mr. Bansal’s dream soon after he launched his venture. Within six months, he became a member of IndiaMART.com. “We had a discussion with IndiaMART.com when we started a web page with them and slowly we converted it into a website. This helped us get good presence on the search engine. Apart from this, we also were listed high on IndiaMART.com portal also. We used to get good enquiries from good companies and now we are the registered vendor for them,” says Mr. Bansal.
What has helped AVI International in talking huge strides in the industry is the promotion done by IndiaMART.com. “Through them we are getting good results, good and big companies are approaching us. And apart from that, we are offering good pricing, we are offering a very good service. Because their aim is to just generate the leads while our aim is to convert those leads into order. So their job ends when a lead comes to us now our job starts. They are doing justice to the money what we are paying to them,” says Mr. Bansal.
