Sony Pursues Systematic Success

Sitting in his office in Noida, Mr. Varun Chauhan comes across as a person who is self-assured and knows his business in and out. Supporting his father in carrying out business operation across the country, Mr. Chauhan has been involved in overseeing and managing sales activities of the company, Sony Systems.

Operational Strategy and Growth
A company that has stood the test of times for the past 30 years owes its growth to the continuous change brought in by its owners who have been firm believers in evolving the company to meet changing needs and requirements.

Exuding confidence while sharing the story that spans three decades, Mr. Chauhan says, “I am manager of sales at Sony Systems and my father is the Managing Director of the company. We are a 30 year old company involved in manufacturing of laundry and garment finishing equipments. We started our operations in the domestic market and today, we are looking at Gulf, Middle Eastern & African countries.” This is the kind of growth that the company has been able to achieve.

The high points of this journey are marked by certification from clients such as government bodies, hospitals etc. He says, “We have also applied for CE mark for equipments that will help us export to other markets as well.”

Highlighting the opportunities in the industry, Mr. Chauhan says, “As you know, we are into laundry equipment manufacturing but we would like to inform you that this is the starting phase in the commercialisation of business in laundry industry. The next 5-6 years is set to boom as I think you can do billion dollar business through this industry.”

Mr. Chauhan believes that young entrepreneurs should stay focused and concentrate on marketing. Also, investing in good technology can help result in good production.
