Best of MSMEs Awarded at ET NOW-IndiaMART Leaders of Tomorrow Awards 2011 Ceremony

New Delhi, 30th November, 2011: Over 300 stars descended on 28th November, 2011 at Intercontinental The Lalit, Mumbai to witness a glorious night dedicated to MSMEs. These stars were celebrities in their own right – MSMEs, stars of the Indian economy. After months of pain-staking efforts of searching some of the best MSMEs in India, ET NOW-IndiaMART Leaders of Tomorrow Awards 2011 put forward a glittering event where small entrepreneurs were recognised for their brilliant performance and efforts in different categories. Lending credence to this joint initiative by IndiaMART.com and ET NOW, Mr. NR Narayana Murthy, Chairman Emeritus, Infosys Technologies graced the occasion as the Chief Guest alongside other business leaders such as Mr. BS Nagesh, Vice Chairman, Shoppers Stop and MSMEs who waited with bated breath to know the winners.

Congratulating ET NOW and IndiaMART on undertaking this initiative of bringing laurels to Indian MSMEs, Chief Guest Mr. NR Narayana Murthy spoke words of motivation in his keynote and urged the MSMEs present to have high ambitions and set benchmarks on global level. He also advised all present not to ignore the society – provide support by generating employment and taking up projects/products that contribute to overall growth of the society.

In his address to those present, Mr. Dinesh Agarwal, Founder & CEO, IndiaMART.com, said, “It has been a phenomenal second year for Leaders of Tomorrow Awards with 50,000 nominations – a three fold jump over last year. It has delivered on its promise of recognising entrepreneurs, who are giving shape to the India of Tomorrow. We congratulate all those who have emerged victorious. I am sure receiving the Awards from none other than Mr. Narayana Murthy and Mr. BS Nagesh would have further instilled pride among the winners.”

To the delight of the audience, Mr. Rahul Sharma, the popular Indian classical musician, rendered soulful music and began the show on a high note. This was followed by a welcome address from Mr. Sunil Lulla, CEO & MD, Times Television Network.

An exclusive coffee table book on the first edition of ‘IndiaMART Leaders of Tomorrow Awards 2010’ was also unveiled by the three luminaries. As one by one the names of winners were announced in 15 different categories, they were thrilled to share the space with Mr. NR Narayana Murthy and Mr. BS Nagesh who felicitated them with Awards.

Apart from 13 main categories, there were two special Awards given to Ms. Ritu Singhal, Raglan Group, who was declared ‘Woman Entrepreneur of the Year’ and Mr. V. Chandrashekhar, Tarini Infrastructure Ltd. for ‘MSME of the Year’.

The second edition of the Awards successfully climaxed with the stand-up act by Mr. Cyrus Broacha who had the audience intrigued with his witty comments.
