KhushiiNew Delhi, 23 October, 2010: Setting a positive example for other businesses to follow, IndiaMART.com, India’s largest online B2B marketplace, visited KHUSHII (Kinship for Humanitarian, Social and Holistic Intervention in India), which is spearheaded by the legendary cricketer Mr. Kapil Dev, in Vasant Kunj (New Delhi). As a socially responsible corporate, the entire IndiaMART.com team came together to play a part in the holistic development of the underprivileged children at Khushii. This furthered their objective to connect these children with the outside world and integrate them in the mainstream society. The Chief Guest at the event was Mr. Atul Wassan, Former Cricketer and Commentator. Ms. Leena Singh, a famous fashion designer, was also present who boosted the morale of the children with her encouraging words of wisdom.

KhushiiSharing his views on the same, Mr. Dinesh Agarwal, Founder and CEO, IndiaMART.com, said, “At IndiaMART.com, we have a good strength of young generation working with us. I feel this visit to Khushii is a wonderful way to sensitize them about the disadvantaged sections of our society. I am sure this will impart new learnings and sensitivity to them which they will be able to imbibe and realise in their lives. Through this effort, we want to share our smiles with the underprivileged children and contribute our bit in making a positive change in the society.”

A host of activities such as card making competition, jam sessions, treasure hunt and quiz ensured that the IndiaMART.com family and 800 children from Khushii spent a day full of interaction. Moreover, these children were delighted to receive special Diwali gifts, games and books from the company. Following this visit, an exclusive Diwali Haat will be organised at IndiaMART.com office premises (Noida) on November 1-2, 2010 from 4-6pm, wherein various crafts handmade by these children will be on display for purchase. This is another way through which the company is lending its support to Khushii.

It is not the first time IndiaMART.com has made special efforts towards its social responsibility. In recent past, it played a significant role in its first public initiative to clean up the Yamuna which was initiated by Art of Living Foundation of Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. IndiaMART.com heavily promoted the Meri Dilli Meri Yamuna drive and offered full support in making it a successful initiative.
