Verbind, Franzen collaborate to train SMEs in GIFT City

Verbind, an independent not for profit organisation facilitating growth of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), on Monday entered into a pact with Franzen Partners to promote concept of ‘Make in India’ through collaboration for trade and business development of companies with focus on SMEs, start-ups, entrepreneurs and multi national companies (MNCs), a company statement said here.

Through pact with Franzen Partners, the organisation would target over 200,000 Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Gujarat, the statement said, adding that Verbind would offer change management and skill development training to members of World Trade Centre(WTC)-Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City).

As per the agreed terms, Franzen Partners will offer development programmes for the manpower requirements of all the businesses in the WTC network. Both the organisations will work for creating brand India through customised development programmes for the Indian businesses and their requirements with focus on innovation, change and technology, the statement highlighted.

Approximately, 45 million SMEs in India contribute to around 40 per cent of India’s exports and close to 45 per cent of the total manufacturing output. However, due to low-skill level and technology adoption, these SMEs are unable to compete globally.

“Franzen Partners has expertise in change management, skill development and training, which is beneficial to the members of Verbind. Verbind, on the other hand, offers global networking platform across 100 countries for trade and business development. Both together will create more synergies for local industry and also for the Dutch companies exploring to foray into the Indian market,” said, Khair Ull Nissa, director, Verbind.

Verbind, the statement said, will contribute by getting international mentors and access to international markets, which would assist companies in expanding their business both in India and across the globe.

Verbind offers international trade facilitation and global networking platform for exchange of ideas and information to foster international trade for the growth of SMEs and Franzen Partners develops and executes management development programmes through toolkit ‘The Change Express’.
