MSME Min pitches for development of resource-based sectors

Minister of State for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Giriraj Singh today emphasised on the need for development of resource-based sectors like food processing, sericulture and handloom and handicrafts of the North-East region.

Inaugurating the new Corporate Social Responsibility Centre ‘The CSR Hub’ at Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE) here, the Minister said it would play a catalytic role in channelising products in domestic and international market.

IIE Director Manoj Das said there was a need for taking up innovative programmes like ‘one village one product model’ in the region for promoting rural entrepreneurship.

Das also said that corporates of the region can now access IIE’s CSR Hub for their corporate social work.

The Institute has signed an MoU with Oil India Limited for their CSR project and for the past one year it has been working in several areas of entrepreneurship and skill-based training.

IIE is the only dedicated centre for CSR in the region and shall cater to such activities of corporate, organisation and other establishments.
