As an entrepreneur starting from scratch, Mr. S.K.Sharma did not know the trick of new trade that he was about to plunge into. He found a mentor in his father who guided him and helped him fine tune the business which is today known as Shri Hari Industries.
“With god’s grace and my father’s blessings I started this business in 2006. My father is in the same business of fabrication and I learnt many things from him. He is the master in development,” says Mr. Sharma who is the CEO of the company.
Kick-starting the journey
The company was started in 2006 as a fabricator and gradually weaved itself into the mainstream locker/steel industry. “After starting the job-shop, we found that we had to introduce new products with our new entity for which we introduced many products like locker, personal locker, hospital lockers, mobile lockers, steel furniture, hostel furniture and we are getting very good response in the hostel furniture and school furniture,” shares Mr. Sharma.
There were multiple concerns that Mr. Sharma had to address when he got the plants imported from Japan. “I found the problem of skilled labour for maintaining these machines, creating awareness of our presence and third was the competition. There were people who had already made a mark in the market with the same type of plants. Further there were quality issues
which was again dependent on skilled labour,” says Mr. Sharma.
Internet for Business
The company today exports its products to countries such as UK, New Zealand, Africa and UAE which has been made possible thanks to the internet. “Today, the market has gone global and if you want to spread awareness in the global market you must use the internet medium. Once we moved to the internet, we started getting queries from various corners of the world,” says Mr. Sharma.
