This Company never rests on its laurels but carries on hogging the B2B space, says Pallavee
India’s leading B2B portal IndiaMART.com may be inching ahead to the global throne in the B2B realm. To achieve this it seems to be entering into associations with as many organizations in the field along with media, to grow to new heights in the worldwide footprint of this industry. It has recently collaborated with a news channel to launch a new SME portal. To kick start this effort, IndiaMART InterMESH the company has put in place many agreements with small companies for sales lead generation for this new portal.
The new SME portal will address the need for a destination portal providing information, transaction and services to the large SME segment. The portal currently provides trade news, leads, tenders and other relevant information. “Given the way the SMEs are taking centre stage in India’s post-recession economy, we are bullish that NDTVSME will become a destination of first choice very soon for India’s upwardly mobile SMEs,” said Dinesh Agarwal, Founder and CEO, IndiaMART.com
The partnership with numerous companies for sales lead generation is to ensure that sales for this portal takes off from day one. Meghna Peer, Director, Sales, of one such company helping in sales lead generation, said: “We are helping in lead generation for sales for the company’s new B2B portal. We have allocated a dedicated team for this, which involves four telecallers and three field officers. The project has started about three weeks back and we are hoping to deliver them a good number of cases every month.”
According to Vikas Agarwal, COO, Client Servicing, IndiaMART.com, and “The main focus of the alliance is to increase company’s sales, though we are anyway marking good numbers every month. The partnership with lead generation companies will add more value to our sales. Right now, it’s all on trial for three months with such companies to deliver on time and with the required volume.”
While the SME portal would be a ready reckoner of information that will help business leaders, CEOs/owners, CIOs/CTOs and CMOs at every stage of their business marketing process. Right from explanatory and contextual information on how to plan for, implement, and manage new technologies for business enhancement, this portal will be a one stop shop for solutions that customers can rely on for better business outcomes.
Besides, showing more interest in SME trends in India, the company recently organized a conference on “Envisioning the Wired SME” conference, jointly with The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) in the Capital recently. Rakesh Rewari, deputy managing director, SIDBI, who chaired the one of the sessions, said: “Despite the recession, the Indian SME sector has been able to produce winners in the midst of a global slowdown, because they largely do not have any capital expenditure or big buck spends.”
Exhorting SMEs to learn from their showing in the past two years and prepare for the post-recession upswing, Rewari said, “Product diversification and tapping the overseas market will always allow an SME to sustain its value and grow faster.” Parag Palki, CEO, SME Rating Agency of India, outlined the gradually increasing significance of a credit rating regime, which helps SMEs liaise with banks and funding agencies, by proving their credentials.
