IndiaMART emphasizes on technology adoption as the key driver for MSMEs at the Emerging Business Forum, Bangalore

Highlights the importance of technology in catapulting small businesses to the next level of success, in this era of information economy

Bangalore, August 7th, 2015: : IndiaMART, India’s largest online marketplace connecting buyers and suppliers organized a highly engaging discussion forum for the SMEs, IndiaMART Emerging Business Forum, (in association with ZEE Business) at The Capitol Hotel, Bangalore. The acclaimed forum under the key theme, ‘Technology: The Game Changer’ focused on the role and importance of technology adoption, its planned implementation and how it can help MSMEs rise up the growth gradient.

The discussion pivoted around important aspects like how big technology companies can move forward to connect to the MSMEs with simpler and friendly products & offerings, the manner in which SMEs can plan out their technology investments, the recent change in mindset and how few SMEs are adopting internet and technology in a major way.

The forum also touched upon topics such as the role of smart phones in changing the existing market dynamics and what the future has in hold. The way businesses need to astutely manage their online reputation in this era of social media, tips and tricks to address negative reviews on digital mediums, etc.

The Bangalore chapter of the 5th edition of IndiaMART Emerging Business Forum was preceded by the success of the event in Faridabad, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Kolkata, Jaipur, Hyderabad, Ludhiana, Surat and Vadodara.

According to Dinesh Gulati, Director, IndiaMART “Despite the fact that technology bears the innate potential to propel businesses to the next level of growth, many MSMEs are apprehensive about spending on technology, chiefly due to budgetary constraints and lack of awareness. Barring a few, there are several MSMEs across our country which does not even have an access to the internet. It is essential for small businesses to realize that in this era of knowledge economy, technology plays a decisive role in helping them survive in this highly competitive market landscape.”

“At IndiaMART’s Emerging Business Forum in Bangalore, our objective is to create awareness and mentor entrepreneurs through their journey of technology adoption and implementation, taking the ambitious ‘Make in India’ initiative one step up the pedestal.”, he added.

The event witnessed prominent leaders on the esteemed panel of speakers like Mr. Jai Ram, President, Peenya Industries Association, Sumit Keshan, CFO, Gokaldas Exports and Ajay Thakur, Head – BSE. The symposium will now progress towards other Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities including Indore and Pune. It is deemed to unfold a series of profound discussions along with various influential industry experts on important topics related to the growth and development of SMEs in the country. The grand finale would be conducted in Delhi in the month of October.
