Lending credence to the emergence of e-commerce sector as the hottest career destination, the trend in job preferences of tier 1 college pass – outs has changed drastically over the years. An unbelievable transition has been witnessed, with the young talent increasingly opting to work for start-ups and e-commerce players, in a search for more lucrative career options.
As a matter of fact, for creative-enthusiasts and geeks, the Online space seems more fascinating to work! Indeed, the industry is growing at a rapid pace. The Dotcom sector has made an emphatic debut on campuses, which is well reflected on the recent analysis conducted by an esteemed publication (The Economic Times), which says that 1 in every 9 students from the 2013-15 batch across 11 of India’s top B-schools were hailing in ecommerce firm or start-up. Interestingly, job offers from the e-commerce/startup space have gone up by 120% over the past one year alone.
As per a CRISIL research report, ecommerce in India is estimated to grow exponentially and is touted to become a Rs 50,000 crore industry by 2016.
