IndiaMART, India’s largest online marketplace connecting buyers and suppliers, organized one of the biggest discussion platforms for the SMEs, IndiaMART Emerging Business Forum, in association with ZEE Business at Hotel Radisson Blue, Jaipur on June 12. Centering all its discussions around the key theme ‘Make In India – Unleashing the SME potential’, the Forum revolved around the key topic ‘E-commerce & Traders: Opportunities & Challenges’. It showcased the new entrepreneurial opportunities coming up in the e-commerce space armed with ample scope for creativity and innovation. The Forum also touched upon the Modi Government’s ambitious Digital India project and the modernisation of India Post.

The Jaipur chapter of IndiaMART Emerging Business Forum was preceded by the success of the event in Faridabad, Ahmedabad, Mumbai and Kolkata. The Forum witnessed the presence of SMEs from varied industries like textiles, gems and jewellery and many more, and created a huge positive stir among them.

According to Mr. Dinesh Gulati, Director IndiaMART, “The Indian e-commerce industry needs to increase the reach of its players and traders to generally non-serviceable areas, thereby boosting overall growth. We have witnessed overwhelming success from our Emerging Business Forum held at other cities and we now look to replicate the success story here. Jaipur, being a major business hub for a lot of small and mid-sized businesses, is perfectly poised to reap the opportunities offered by the e-commerce revolution.”

“Our endeavor was to help such businesses remove the sector based barriers and enable the inflow of foreign capital; expertise and knowledge that will in turn help propel the Indian E-commerce industry pursue its next phase of growth.”, he further added.

The event witnessed some of the most prominent leaders on the esteemed panel of speakers like Mr. Rajeeva Swarup, Principal Secretary, Government of Rajasthan, Mr. Praveen Khandelwal, the Secretary General of Confederation of All India Traders, Mr. Rakesh Kumar, and the Executive Director of Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts, Mr. Sandeep Ladda, the Leader Technology, PWC and Mr. Atul Chandaiya – National Head, Tele Sales, IndiaMART. Each one of them shared their insights and wisdom on the vast and evolving ecosystem of Indian E-commerce alongwith a special session held by Mr. Rajeeva Swarup.

The symposium will now progress towards 10 more Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities including Hyderabad, Ludhiana, Surat, Vadodara, Bengaluru, Indore, and Pune. It is deemed to unfold a series of profound discussions along with various influential industry experts on important topics related to the growth and development of SMEs in the country. The grand finale would be conducted in Delhi in the month of October.
