New Delhi, 15th October, 2011: After receiving more than 50,000 nominations from Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) across the country for the most-awaited event of the year, ‘IndiaMART Leaders of Tomorrow Awards 2011′, IndiaMART.com along with ET NOW are all set to kick start the pre-jury rounds in New Delhi (October 29, 2011), Mumbai (October 30, 2011) and Bengaluru (October 31, 2011). Top 10 nominees in each of 13 categories will emerge from these pre-jury rounds. Post this, most-promising MSMEs will be chosen in the final jury round, expected to take place on November 11, 2011 in New Delhi.
Speaking about the selection process, Mr. Dinesh Agarwal, Founder & CEO, IndiaMART.com, said, “The massive response from MSMEs across the nation highlights that they are gung-ho about the Awards. With pre-jury rounds about to begin, we too are curious to see who would emerge victorious in the end as these are some of the brightest MSMEs in the country. We wish them the best.”
Ernst & Young, as a process advisor, has shortlisted top 70 in each category out of which top 20 will appear for pre-jury round. The pre-jury will then assess these entries and select top 10 in each category for the final jury round. Post this, the grand jury will meet these successful MSMEs and choose the winners amongst them whose names will be disclosed at the felicitation ceremony slated to be held on 28th November, 2011 at Intercontinental The Lalit, Mumbai. Names of the jury members (pre-jury & grand jury) will be shared soon.
Alongside the selection process, the Leaders of Tomorrow show on ET NOW continues to showcase stories of MSMEs’ entrepreneurial excellence. It has had 19 episodes so far.
Last year, the Awards ceremony was held in New Delhi on 4th December, 2011 where the Hon’ble Union Minister for Home Affairs Mr. P. Chidambaram graced the event as the Chief Guest honouring MSMEs from various industries. The huge success witnessed last year raises the bar for excellence for this year Awards. Receiving almost double the nominations as compared to last year certainly gives a promising start to the end of another great year for MSMEs.
