Festive season: Experts say digital payments and consumer trends drive spending

B2B and mindful spending trends

Industry sources report that digital adoption extends beyond retail. Dinesh Gulati, COO of IndiaMART InterMesh Limited, said that pre-Diwali demand is increasing across categories such as fabrics, dairy-related raw material, food processing machinery, and packaging, particularly in Maharashtra, Karnataka, UP, and West Bengal.

Experts also note a growing emphasis on mindful spending.

Dante De Gori, CEO of FPSB International, said, “A practical budget and prioritising expenses that bring genuine value can help consumers celebrate without compromising financial security. Many are using bonuses or gifts to invest or save, balancing enjoyment with long-term goals.”

Conscious consumer choices are influencing product selection, too.

Rajesh Narang, CEO & Founder of Ample Group, observed, “Festive spending is becoming more thoughtful. Shoppers consider repairability, longevity, and sustainability—opting for products that are meaningful and responsibly sourced rather than simply the newest or most expensive.”
